Anti-racist practice
A sense of belonging, not just fitting inOur commitment
How we work
Embedded in Our Ethos & Curriculum
Policy, Procedure & Preparation
We co-wrote the Anti-Racism Policy & Procedure, a template and guide for Early Years settings in Bristol.
Leading & Sharing Practice
The Centre also co-founded the Bristol Early Years Forum for Anti-Racist Practice, providing a space for professionals to reflect, share challenges, and support one another.
We built a network of professionals who meet regularly to discuss race equality across Bristol.
We also deliver training, open study days, and practice-sharing events.
Reflecting, Auditing & Growing
We believe anti-racist work is ongoing. We are developing a Race Equality Toolkit in collaboration with Bristol City Council and partners — a tool to audit our own practices, set targets, and track growth over time.
Purpose of the Race Equality Working Group
“Our aim as a network of professional working across the Early Years sector in Bristol is to collate a cohesive network that works together to progress the race equalities agenda in a joined up and strategic manner, to disseminate knowledge and practice, which has an impact on experience and outcomes.”
