Screen time and online risks for young children are hot topics in the news right now – and navigating all the advice can feel overwhelming.
At ECCC, we’ve recently been reviewing our approach to technology in early childhood. While screens are a normal part of modern daily life, our main priority is ensuring they don’t replace experiences young children need most, such as hands-on play, physical movement, sleep, real-world exploration, communication, and responsive adult interaction.
Screen time at nursery
We have carefully evaluated how, why, and when screens might be used across each of our room environments. You can read more about how we limit risks and balance digital tools with active learning in our Screen Use Policy.
