Why Choose Easton Community Children’s Centre
Truly valuing every child
At Easton Community Children’s Centre (ECCC), we believe children deserve more than just care — they deserve to feel they belong, are seen, and can flourish. As an independent charity we don’t have to focus on making profits – our focus for 40 years has been 100% on what is best for our children, families, and wider community. Here’s what sets us apart:
A Vision That Puts Your Child First
- Every child is treated as a unique individual. We tailor our care and teaching to meet their needs so they develop a deep love of learning
- We want children to feel more than just “fitting in” — we help them feel they belong.
- We want to get to know your child before they start with us to ensure that we include experiences to make them feel comfortable to learn – please let us know about your family, culture, traditions, home language and more!
Inclusive, Caring & Diverse Environment
- We celebrate diversity and promote equality & fairness throughout. Inclusion is not just a policy — it’s how we do things every day.
- Anti-racist and trauma-informed practices are at the heart of everything we do — from the curriculum to how we train and support staff.
- Our cultural calendar ensures that children see themselves reflected in stories, books, and celebrations — and learn about others too.
Safe, Welcoming Spaces & Caring Staff
- In the youngest rooms (6-24 months), we maintain very small ratios so your child always receives lots of individual attention.
- We maintain a ratio of 1 adult to 4 children with our two-year old children, even though the legal ratio is 1:5.
- In preschool, children benefit from a qualified teacher and staff with extensive family support experience, we maintain ratios of 1 adult to 8 children (legally 1:13). .
Community-Focused Approach
- We partner closely with parents, carers, our staff, volunteers, trustees and the wider Easton community; and we have done for over 40 years when we were set up as a charity, to provide essential childcare, for the local community.
- We’re a certified Real Living Wage Employer – we believe in paying all our staff fairly and valuing the vital and skilled work they do with our children.
- We’re a registered charity and reinvest every penny into improving the care, learning environment, and opportunities we give children.
Flexible Sessions
- We offer sessions that suit different family needs: mornings, afternoons, wrap-around care, and an extended day.
- We strive to keep fees transparent and affordable, whilst spending every penny on the best care, education and nutrition for our children.
Healthy Meals
- Unlike most nurseries, we have our own chef and kitchen on-site. We cook from scratch so we can make sure the quality and variety of our food is second-to-none.
- Every day we prepare fresh meals and snacks on-site, ensuring children have healthy, varied, balanced food.
- We accommodate vegetarian, pescatarian, vegan, and medically required dietary needs.
“Staff know what the children enjoy and they plan challenging activities based on their interests. Children enjoy their time in the nursery … they have access to a good range of resources that effectively support their enjoyment and progress.”
